Late last night I was hearing quite the racket coming from the crab tank. It turned out to be caused by the new food I had offered earlier in the evening, some canned shrimp and snails I picked up yesterday. As I shined my flashlight along the tank, I suddenly saw a bit of movement along the top of the tank. It turned out to be Spike, clutching to the roof of the 55 gallon, just kind of hanging out, and snacking on a large piece of snail he had gotten up there with him. I can just see him now, scuttling away with his loot, and

Today is Kinsey's 1st birthday! Happy Birthday Kinsey:D

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! Lily wanted to give a shout out to you all too:

If you recall, awhile ago I had a crab lose a claw. I am happy to let you all know that after another molt, Spark now has a little claw in place of where her claw used to be. We are very excited to see her making such a spectacular recovery and look forward to the day it has grown back completely.

Spark is doing very well and is on a fast track to recovery. A $30 with the hermit crab addiction store has been well worth it healthiness wise, the crabs empty their food bowl as often as 3 times a day!

Sprite has come up, officially making all my crabs on the surface!

It is unknown exactly why, but Spark has dropped her big claw. This was about 4 days ago. However, she (its official) has lived and continues to thrive, and has not dropped futher limbs. She is eating a lot and I've seen her drinking and bathing frequently. She is a good crab and we hope she pulls through:) Wish her luck?
Spark without her big claw. It should be opposite her little one in the picture. If you don't know a lot about crabs and can't see it, just take my word for it that it's not there and is supposed to be:)

Spark is up from his first molt. Color is a bit dull, but he didn't have much of an appetite before going down. Kind of a blueish purple color, but toned down. he is very alert and switched shells upon surfacing (yay!) upon being picked up, rushes of water poured out, proving that Spark has been quite  busy swimming in the 6 hours he's been up:) I am so happy to see my baby has survived, upon arrival home Spark did not move for days, being very lethargic and downcast.
